“…Kelsey then greeted me and showed me to her chair. She said, “Tell me what you are thinking and we can go from there”. I told her my story, showed her pics of different haircuts and colors. I told her that I wanted her to have some creative freedom and I was open to her suggestions (bc she is the expert!). She asked me several questions regarding: color maintenance, everyday styling, etc. All of this was considered in the color/ cut that she had designed for me. She even gave me an estimate for the first appointment for the hair makeover and a range of cost for the upkeep (depending on what services were used: just color & style or color/cut and style). It was so nice to know exactly what I was getting myself into commitment wise. (…) My overall experience with the salon, staff, and Kelsey was first class. I would also like to add – the entire MOD team seemed to have a great working chemistry. I will definitely be back and I’m so grateful have found this amazing salon!”

“this is a top-notch salon, in a stylish and comfortable space. jade is the best–i’ve lived in a lot of places, but i’ve never found anyone as good with hair as she is, not even close. she’s detail-oriented and can do absolutely anything. i have very straight and fine hair, which i’ve been told is challenging and fussy, but jade has no problem with it; every haircut is the best haircut i’ve ever had. i can’t recommend her highly enough.”

“Thanks to Trang at Mod Salon for taking me in within one day for my first appointment. She listened to my needs and gave me a great haircut for my face and thin hair. After two cuts, I had her do very subtle highlights. With confidence, on my third appointment, I let her go to a very short cut that I really wanted and I let her experience guide the highlights for this new style. I am so happy and have gotten positive reviews from coworkers. My husband, who feared a shorter cut, was thrilled and grabbed and kissed me after seeing the front and back!

“Kelsey is awesome!! I recently moved back to the area for school after living in Austin over a decade. There were many reasons I was sad about leaving, one of which was that I’d be leaving my most-trusted and wonderful hairstylist. Kelsey is the first stylist here in Baton Rouge that listened, cut and toned my hair exactly as I wanted. She has a great sense of style, and gave constructive input when discussing my hair during the consultation. Love her, and already made my next appointment for balayage. And, the salon has such a cool atmosphere! Everyone was so incredibly nice and welcoming. It’s artsy and comfortable, and I felt a little like I was transported back to Austin for a little while- which was nice because I’ve been a bit homesick. Do yourself a favor and go get your hair done at Mod Salon!”

“Mod is the best salon in town! I have been to about 3 other high-end salons and Mod is by far the best. The atmosphere is fun and clean. I always see Jade but have friends who also go to Mod and love their hair peeps. Jade is a color chemist! She’s very knowledgeable and will be up front about the issues she sees BEFORE starting a job. She always has solutions to the issues too. I walked in looking like the Cynthia doll from The RugRats and walked away looking chic and natural.”

“Short: Book here. These people know what they’re doing and you will not regret it! Trang is amazing- I love my brows and loved the staff! Long: So I moved to BR from SATX two years ago and haven’t been able to find a place that does my eyebrows the way I like. I haven’t had anything done in the last 3 months following illness and surgery, and was looking rough! I found this amazing little spot on Yelp and took a chance, and was scheduled with Trang. SO. GLAD. I. DID. She was so kind and sweet and so personal about the look I was wanting for my brows (in prep for my anniversary coming up) and all the ladies in the salon were so sweet and inquisitive, I felt so welcome and cared after – I intend to be a regular!”
